Area Z
Area Z (originally referred to as Area S East) was a walled complex across a wide road to the east of Area S. No access to the road was found in the few trenches excavated. All rooms had doors south, giving the impression of two non-communicating rows of rooms, each row with rooms leading into each other from the south. Though the evidence is scant, it suggests that Area Z housed some sort of industrial activity.
Two trenches excavated in 1995 to the south of Area Z (394/4 and 395/7) may belong to it.
Area Z was excavated by Heather Jackson in 2008 and 2010.
